Motion Capture Artist & Face Wrapping

At Activision CTX, I work on a variety of tasks including being a motion capture technician and operating our Lightstage.

For motion capture, I contribute to the whole pipeline from capture to data cleaning, then to retargeting and delivery to the client in short turnaround time. For performance capture shoots, I operate the HMC's and handle all the data for those shoots.

For photogrammetry, I operate the shoots and aid with any 3D wrapping so all the expressions are game ready. This is for both background characters as well as main characters that can have over 100 different expressions.

In addition, I regularly create documentation of our pipelines, contribute and maintain our studio's confluence pages, and work on pipeline opitimization.

Call of Duty MWII & MWIII

3D Face & Expression Wrapping

My primary work for this project was doing 3D wraps of actors' expressions to turn photogrammetry scans into game-ready meshes. This was completed for many different actors, each with dozens of expressions to be used for animation blend shapes. The photogrammetry was capture using Activision's Light Stage and the wrapping was done in Wrap3D.

The image is representational of the work I did. All materials are under NDA.

Characters this was completed for include Valeria Garza (MWII) and Alejandro Vargas (MWII).

Call of Duty: Vanguard

Motion Capture Artist

My primary work for this project was to clean the motion capture data in Vicon Blade, and retarget the data in Motionbuilder before passing it onto the animation team. Most of these animations were lethalities, walks, and short actions like getting in a vehicle.

Call of Duty: Vanguard was released in the Fall of 2021 by Sledgehammer Games. The image is from the game's promotional materials.

Leyla & Mecnun

Motion Capture Clean Up Artist

Leyla & Mecnun was a senior capstone project created by Drexel students Julia Zuckerberg and Fatma Ozen in 2019. It was an animated short that retold the Turkish folktale of the same name in virtual reality. The story was told through dance, which was animated using motion capture.

My primary job for this project was to clean the motion capture footage in Vicon Blade, and then pass it on to the animators. The motion capture was done using Vicon Blade Live and the animation was made and rendered in Unreal Engine 4.
